Start by identifying exactly what matters most to you in a dental provider. This might include factors like insurance coverage, payment options, office hours, credentials, cleanliness, location, and overall safety. Think about the type of care you’re seeking—whether it’s teeth whitening to brighten your smile, Invisalign for straighter teeth, dental implants in Glendale, or just a routine exam and cleaning. It’s also important to get a sense of how the practice treats its patients. At Arrowhead Dentistry, we focus on providing personalized care that’s tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
The cost of a routine dental checkup and cleaning can vary depending on your location and individual oral health needs. On average, these visits typically range from $200 to $350 in most areas across the U.S. If you have dental insurance, your provider may have negotiated rates with your dentist that reduce out-of-pocket expenses. During your visit, our team will review your dental history, address any concerns, and perform a comprehensive exam. This includes a professional cleaning, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening to help keep your smile healthy.
To practice dentistry in the U.S., individuals must earn either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from one of the 67 accredited dental schools. Admission typically requires a bachelor’s degree, often in a science- or math-related field, along with a strong academic record. Dental school usually spans about three years and includes both classroom instruction and clinical experience. Some dentists choose to pursue one of the 12 specialties recognized by the American Dental Association, which involves an additional three or more years of advanced training. To maintain their license, all dentists must also complete a set number of continuing education hours each year.
